We got eighteen (18!) inches of snow on Friday near our house. It was enough that the schools had to close, and you know we love a snow day. On Saturday, the sun shone bright and it was time to have some fun. We are blessed to live near the best sledding hill in Littleton. This hill is so perfect that it is literally called, “Sledding Hill Park.”
This piece of winter paradise is located just west of Kipling Street on Ken Caryl Avenue. Rumor has it that in the mid 1990’s the county wanted to sell this patch of land to developers, but the local residents protested so much that instead of new housing projects, the county designated it a public park and dedicated it to sledding. There is a parking lot at the bottom (although it was packed today) and cleared off paths to the crest of the hill.
You can probably tell in the video above that we had a blast! It was even better because our cousins came out (#stellabri) and enjoyed the snow with us.
Have you ever been to Sledding Hill Park? Do you think it is the best sledding spot in Littleton? Are there better places to sled in Littleton? Is this too many questions for one short article? Let us know in the comments below and I hope you can all enjoy swooshing down hills very soon.
